Why We Source Our Beans from Single-Origin Farms
Walk into most cafes and you will find a house blend — a proprietary mix designed for consistent flavour year-round. At TNF Cafe, we chose a different path: single-origin. Here is why we believe it makes every cup better, and more meaningful.
What Is Single-Origin Coffee?
Single-origin coffee comes from one specific farm, region, or cooperative. Unlike blends, which combine beans from multiple sources to hit a target flavour profile, single-origin coffee is transparent. You know exactly where it came from, who grew it, and under what conditions.
Terroir in the Cup
Coffee, like wine, expresses the environment where it was grown. Our Gayo Highlands beans carry notes of dark chocolate and tropical fruit — a direct reflection of the volcanic soil and cool mountain air of Aceh. These nuances disappear the moment you blend them with beans from elsewhere.
Supporting Farmers Directly
When you buy single-origin coffee, you can trace your money back to the farmer. We work with cooperatives in Aceh that pay fair wages and use sustainable farming practices. Every cup you drink at TNF Cafe supports a specific community, not an anonymous global supply chain.
Next time you visit, ask your barista about the current origin. They will be happy to tell you the whole story.
